Victor Davis Hanson ist der Martin und Illie Anderson Senior Fellow an der Hoover Institution; seine Schwerpunkte sind Klassiker und Militärgeschichte.
Hanson war National Endowment for the Humanities Fellow am Center for Advanced Studies in the Behavioral Sciences, Stanford, Kalifornien (1992-93), Gastprofessor für Klassische Philologie an der Stanford University (1991-92), jährlicher Wayne und Marcia Buske Distinguished Visiting Fellow in Geschichte am Hillsdale College (2004-), Gastprofessor für Militärgeschichte an der US Naval Academy (2002-3), und William Simon Visiting Professor of Public Policy an der Pepperdine University (2010).
