Victor Davis Hanson è Martin and Illie Anderson Senior Fellow presso la Hoover Institution; la sua specialità è la storia classica e militare.

Hanson si è laureato in lettere classiche all’Università della California, Santa Cruz (1975), è stato borsista alla American School of Classical Studies di Atene (1977-78) e ha conseguito il dottorato in lettere classiche alla Stanford University (1980).
